Mohan Yadav: MP Leads with Ancient Wisdom in Green Buildings

Madhya Pradesh is setting a national benchmark by integrating green building practices into its development agenda, as declared by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav during a high-profile seminar launch in Bhopal. At the Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre, Yadav kicked off the pan-India green building seminar alongside the Indian Building Congress's 113th council session. He delved into antiquity, praising King Bhoj's Bhojpatra treatises and constructions that embodied sustainable Indian ethos. Centering on the five elements with Earth as nucleus, Yadav spotlighted Dongargaon near Ujjain—Earth's geographic midpoint and timeless timekeeper. Indore's Mandu Palace cools via a mid-structure pond, while Tungabhadra's Shringeri displays nature-synced artistry. PM Narendra Modi's fusion of heritage and science is the need of the hour, he urged. Bhopal's Bada Talab ingeniously manages water without barriers, and Ujjain's Shipra-adjacent temples follow river dynamics. Prioritizing growth, MP ensures resource optimization via green tech for infrastructure. Environmentally sound building is now focal amid global warming. From Gudhi Padwa to Ganga Dussehra, a statewide water revival initiative targets wells and stepwells. MP ranks first nationally, with Khargone leading and Barwani close behind. Yearly pledges solidify this leadership. PWD Minister Rakesh Singh highlighted Harappan natural equilibrium and Angkor Wat's forward-thinking builds, crafted for enduring utility.
