A chilling gangrape case has unfolded in Delhi, where a woman endured unimaginable horror inside a speeding bus in Nangloi. Quick police response led to the arrest of the driver and conductor, with the vehicle recovered. Yet, the incident lays bare the capital’s ongoing struggle with crimes against women.

The survivor, hailing from Pitampura and employed at a Mongolpuri factory, was en route home on May 11 evening. Near Saraswati Vihar B-Block, a private sleeper bus with blacked-out windows stopped. Asking for time, she was pulled inside by force.

Driven to Nangloi under cover of night and curtains, she was repeatedly assaulted. Breaking free, she filed a complaint at the local thana. Post-medical verification, charges were filed, and a crack team launched the manhunt.

Authorities seized the crime bus and are interrogating the duo for accomplices. Forensic teams are analyzing evidence meticulously.

This atrocity in broad public view demands introspection. From Nirbhaya to now, Delhi’s women navigate fear daily. Stricter transport oversight, GPS tracking on buses, and harsher penalties could stem this tide of violence.
