Thane Metro Lines 4 and 4A have completed a successful trial run, covering a 10-kilometer stretch from Cadbury Junction to Kasarvadavali. This development is expected to streamline commutes within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Key officials were present during the trial run. The Chief Minister confirmed the trial’s success and estimated a daily ridership of 13 to 14 lakh commuters. The Mumbai Metro Line 4, a 32.32 km elevated corridor with 30 stations, is designed to provide better connectivity to existing transport networks. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) highlighted the improved access to commercial areas and government facilities the metro will offer, significantly reducing travel times. The Metro Line 4A, a 2.7 km extension, will enhance the efficiency of the existing line. The Thane Metro project is set to be a boon for daily commuters, providing swift and economical transportation options, particularly for students and workers. The completion of the project is targeted for 2026.
