The crime department of the Mumbai Police raided a hookah parlour being operated from the terrace of a resort in suburban Andheri within the early hours of Saturday and booked 42 individuals, an official stated.
During the raid carried out round 2:30 am, the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) discovered that not less than 27 prospects have been being served hookah, he stated.
The hookah was discovered to be tobacco-mixed, the official stated, including that varied hookah flavours, pots, cigarettes and different gear have been seized.
A case was registered in opposition to the workers of the parlour, the shoppers and others below varied sections of the India Penal Code (IPC), the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act and the Disaster Management Act, he stated.
A ban on hookah was imposed in Mumbai after the 2017Kamla Mills fireplace incident by which 14 folks misplaced their lives.
