A narcotics smuggler was shot lifeless by the BSF alongside the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district and 27 kg of heroin value crores of rupees recovered from his possession on Wednesday, officers mentioned.
A spokesperson of the Border Security Force (BSF) mentioned the incident happened within the border outpost (BOP) Pansar space of Hiranagar sector.
BSF personnel observed the smuggler making an attempt to sneak into Indian territory from the opposite aspect of the border. They shot him after he ignored their warnings and tried to flee, he mentioned.
The id of the smuggler is being ascertained.

A senior officer mentioned the worth of the medicine recovered throughout the operation is estimated to be over Rs 100 crore within the worldwide market.
The spokesperson identified that earlier on January 23, the BSF had detected a 150-metre underground tunnel, which was meant to facilitate the infiltration of terrorists from Pakistan for finishing up subversive actions, within the BOP Pansar space.
