NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has requested Congress chief Rahul Gandhi to hitch investigation for the fifth day on June 21 and file his assertion within the National Herald cash laundering case, officers stated on Monday.
Gandhi appeared for the fourth day of questioning on Monday, a day after he turned 52, and the session would proceed. Officials stated that he has been requested to hitch the probe once more on Tuesday and proceed recording his assertion underneath the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The Congress MP has spent as many as 38 hours on the ED headquarters on APJ Abdul Kalam Road within the nationwide capital over 4 sittings since his first look on June 13. The ED probe pertains to alleged monetary irregularities within the Congress-promoted Young Indian Private Limited, which owns the National Herald newspaper.
The newspaper is revealed by Associated Journals Limited (AJL) and owned by Young Indian Private Limited. Congress president Sonia Gandhi has additionally been summoned by the company for questioning within the case on June 23.
