A major infrastructural achievement was celebrated in Bihar on Monday with the inauguration of the Kacchi Dargah-Bidupur Bridge by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. This six-lane bridge over the Ganges promises to improve connectivity and stimulate development in the region, specifically connecting previously isolated communities like Diyara Jalla with Patna. Road Construction Minister Nitin Nabin highlighted the project’s significance, attributing its success to the Chief Minister’s vision. Local residents expressed their enthusiasm, describing the profound impact the bridge would have on their daily lives, eliminating the need for boat travel and drastically reducing travel times. The bridge, which is nearly 10 kilometers long, will improve traffic flow by linking NH 31 to NH 322, and is scheduled to be fully operational by July 2025. The state also plans to expand its highway network with a new bridge planned between Arrah and Chhapra.
