The Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, which occurred during the couple’s honeymoon in Meghalaya, has witnessed a significant development. Vipin Raghuvanshi, brother of the deceased Indore businessman, is demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe. He asserts that a leaked phone conversation raises serious questions about the involvement of Sonam Raghuvanshi’s family in the alleged murder. Authorities have stated that Sonam, along with her lover Raj Kushwaha and three others, planned and executed Raja’s murder. Raja’s body was found in a ravine in Sohra on June 2. Vipin criticizes the Meghalaya police for their handling of the investigation, particularly the ease with which certain co-accused have been granted bail. He also cited an unconfirmed call recording that allegedly shows Sonam communicating with her family from jail, a claim that the family denies. Vipin accuses Sonam’s family of being involved in legal proceedings concerning her bail. The East Khasi Hills Court recently granted bail to Silom James, accused of evidence tampering and sheltering Sonam and Raj in Indore. Two other accused, Lokendra Singh Tomar and Balbir Ahirwa, have also been granted bail. Sonam, Raj Kushwaha, and the three alleged contract killers remain in judicial custody.
