A significant change is coming to IRCTC’s ticket reservation process. Starting October 1, the initial 15 minutes of the reservation window will be exclusive to users who have successfully linked their Aadhaar details with their IRCTC accounts and updated their mobile numbers. This step is part of the Indian Railways’ ongoing efforts to enhance the security and fairness of the reservation system. The focus is to curb misuse and ensure that legitimate passengers are prioritized. This new rule mirrors the earlier introduction of mandatory Aadhaar verification for Tatkal ticket bookings.
