NIA Chargesheet in Deadly Lal Qila Blast Case Heads to Court June 4
1 min readDelhi’s justice system gears up for a pivotal moment as Patiala House Court’s special bench takes up the NIA’s chargesheet in the Red Fort Metro car bomb case on June 4. The November 2025 outrage that snuffed out 11 lives and maimed survivors has finally reached this critical stage after meticulous investigation.
The agency lodged a detailed 7,500-page indictment against 10 perpetrators on Thursday. Leading the pack is Umar Un Nabi, the on-site commander inside the bomb-rigged car. Accomplices charged include Aamir Rashid Ali, Jaseer Bilal Wani, Muazzamil, Adil Ahmad Rather, Mufti Irfan Ahmad, Dr. Shehn Syeed, Soyab, Bilal, and Yaseer Ahmad Dar.
All are tied to Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGUH), an Al-Qaeda proxy. Revelations from the probe point to a 2022 covert summit in Srinagar, birthing Operation Heavenly Hind—a blueprint for nationwide terror campaigns aimed at dismantling democracy and instituting Sharia rule.
Invoked statutes encompass UAPA, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Explosive Substances Act, Arms Act, and safeguards against public property destruction.
The blast weaponized TATP, a peroxide-based explosive easily produced from household items. Intelligence shows preparations for drone bombings and rocket launches, signaling broader conspiracies.
Eleven suspects are under NIA lockup, with pursuits ongoing for others. This hearing could set precedents in counter-terrorism jurisprudence, reaffirming India’s unyielding stance against extremism.
