Swift police action in Noida has led to the capture of a prolific mobile thief terrorizing commuters. Sector-58 station officers, leveraging local tips and CCTV surveillance, collared Rishabh Dayal alias Rahul from Mayur Vihar Phase-3, Delhi, right at C-Block Ramleela Ground in Sector-62.
The bust yielded two crime-scene bikes (Splendor Plus and FZ), 11 snatched mobiles, and an illicit dagger. Rishabh’s signature style involved high-speed bike approaches to grab phones from distracted walkers, fleeing before anyone could react.
Notably, one iPhone-16 was taken from Todd Mall Road, Sector-62, only 48 hours earlier—a case already filed locally. The rest hail from Sectors 62, 63, 05, 24, and surrounding Delhi-NCR zones, with police compiling victim statements for returns.
A check of records shows Rishabh as a repeat felon with 26+ cases in areas like Sectors 20, 24, 58, and Phase-1, encompassing robbery, assault to kill, Arms Act breaches, handling stolen items, and Gangster Act invocations. He’s no stranger to jail bars.
Ongoing questioning aims to expose his associates and operations. Noida authorities hail this as a win for community safety, vowing intensified measures against snatch-and-grab crimes plaguing the region.
