Tragedy struck the Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri as a stampede broke out, causing multiple fatalities and injuries. The incident took place at Saradhabali, close to the Gundicha Temple, during the early hours of Sunday. Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan confirmed the deaths, attributing them to suffocation within the massive crowd. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the stampede, and the government is closely monitoring the situation. The Rath Yatra is ongoing, with devotees continuing to participate. Prior to this event, around 750 devotees received medical attention for issues related to the extensive crowds.
