The Indian Armed Forces showcased their strategic might and unwavering resolve during ‘Operation Sindoor,’ a swift and accurate counter-terrorist operation that successfully eliminated over 100 terrorists and dismantled nine terror camps. According to Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the South Western Command, the operation was a direct response to the audacious April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. He elaborated that the mission, a joint endeavor by the Army, Air Force, and Navy, was executed with unparalleled precision on May 7, neutralizing terrorist threats within an astonishing 20-22 minute span. “The targets were divided among the Army, Air Force, and Navy,” Lieutenant General Singh noted. “This action was extremely precise and well-planned.” He stressed the importance of zero collateral damage, a key success factor demonstrating India’s advanced targeting capabilities. The operation also successfully intercepted and neutralized Pakistani attempts to launch attacks on Indian military infrastructure on May 8 and 9. Subsequently, India launched a counter-offensive, reportedly destroying 11 Pakistani air force bases. This decisive action reportedly caused Pakistan to ‘panic’ and agree to a ceasefire. Lieutenant General Singh highlighted a shift in India’s policy towards terrorism, indicating that such acts are now considered ‘acts of war,’ underscoring the clear political directive to neutralize terrorists and their support systems. ‘Operation Sindoor’ exemplifies this decisive approach, granting commanders the autonomy to execute operations based on real-time assessments.
