In a recent development, BJP MP Samik Bhattacharya has criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, alleging that he is politicizing matters of little importance. Bhattacharya’s remarks were a response to Gandhi’s assertion that he was being prevented from speaking in the Lok Sabha, which Bhattacharya viewed as an insubstantial political gesture. He argued that the Congress has failed to establish itself as a responsible opposition. BJP MP Jagdambika Pal also commented, suggesting that Gandhi allow the House to function to be able to speak. Pal stated that it was the conduct of the Congress members themselves that led to the disruption. The opposition, including the Congress and its allies, has raised concerns during the monsoon session, including the Pahalgam terror attack and the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar, which caused the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to be adjourned repeatedly.
