Paswan: Global Strife Behind Petrol-Diesel Price Surge

Chirag Paswan has placed the recent petrol and diesel price increases squarely on global conflict, saying the Centre has shielded citizens from even steeper costs. The minister told reporters in Patna that everyday households feel the pinch, yet New Delhi exhausted every policy tool to keep retail rates manageable. He noted that simultaneous crises in the Middle East and beyond have lifted crude prices worldwide. Paswan argued that only a tripartite understanding among Washington, Tel Aviv, and Tehran can restore calm to energy markets. Until then, he said, the government will continue targeted interventions. Addressing Bihar’s political temperature, Paswan condemned attempts to communalise or caste-ise police encounters. He insisted that lawbreakers must face justice without regard to identity, adding that Bihar’s progress depends on ending the cycle of selective outrage. The minister urged political maturity, warning that identity politics risks returning the state to its troubled past while global oil shocks remain unresolved.
