Mumbai’s political scene heated up as AIMIM’s vocal spokesperson Waris Pathan addressed the Nashik TCS case arrest of Nida Khan and broader anti-Muslim sentiments, labeling the narrative as one of pure vitriol.

‘Our mission is clear: stand with victims and the innocent. Religion doesn’t matter—if it were a Hindu girl, same stance. Justice guides me,’ Pathan proclaimed regarding Nida Khan’s detention.

He invoked constitutional rights emphatically: ‘All must follow the law. Case ongoing, she’s innocent per law until court says otherwise. You can’t convict via headlines.’

Turning to national concerns, Pathan lamented, ‘Muslims endure endless atrocities. Hatred is all that’s spread against us daily. West Bengal’s ongoing assaults on Muslims demand central intervention against BJP, TMC, or whoever perpetrates it.’

Countering Minister Shirsat’s probe demand into AIMIM, he accused the media of prejudice. ‘Court-pending case, but media declares guilt. Utterly illegal—presume innocence, await judgment.’

In lighter news, Pathan wished TVK chief Vijay well as Tamil Nadu’s new CM.

Pathan shared insights from West Bengal, where AIMIM ran in 11 constituencies. ‘Law and order was in shambles; I was there witnessing the turmoil.’

These comments spotlight persistent challenges in upholding fairness amid rising polarization, urging a return to legal and ethical standards in public discourse.
