Maharashtra is under fire from NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar, who has meticulously outlined the state’s woeful record as India’s crime capital against women. Routine reports of acid violence, sexual assaults, harassment epidemics, and missing girls paint a state in crisis, he told journalists pointedly.

Delving into data, Pawar declared, ‘Across India, Maharashtra ranks first in crimes against women – a chilling reality check.’ The Ahilyanagar acid attack on a Class 6 pupil served as his stark example: ‘Such barbarity shames us all and cries out for rigorous prosecution.’

He skewered governmental lethargy on the ‘Shakti Bill,’ an MVA initiative returned by New Delhi due to procedural hiccups. ‘Three years on, no revival, no home department drive – pure neglect,’ Pawar indicted, urging revival to fortify safeguards.

Broadening his attack, Pawar questioned the hush around Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s alleged plane crash links. ‘I met the Speaker yesterday for open forums; our upper house reps are insistent too. Yet, despite Ajit faction’s CBI pleas to Fadnavis and CM follow-ups, a key player ensures no real inquiry or assembly debate,’ he revealed.

Pawar’s forthright narrative signals escalating scrutiny. With public safety and political integrity at stake, the government faces mounting pressure to deliver justice and transparency before it’s too late.
