Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election rally near Maduranthakam on Friday formally launched the NDA’s campaign for Tamil Nadu’s assembly elections, setting the stage for a bruising battle. AMMK leader T.T.V. Dinakaran seized the moment to excoriate Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, branding his administration as a bastion of dynastic favoritism.
In blistering remarks, Dinakaran alleged that Stalin is neglecting crumbling law and order, rampant crime, and economic woes to pave the way for son Udhayanidhi’s ascent. ‘The state bleeds while the CM plays succession games,’ he charged, eliciting strong applause.
The event brought together NDA heavyweights like AIADMK’s Edappadi K. Palaniswami, PMK’s Anbumani Ramadoss, and TMC(M)’s G.K. Vasan, symbolizing a united front in Modi’s presence. Dinakaran lauded the Prime Minister’s determination to eradicate ‘people-hostile family governance’ and install a system prioritizing progress, security, and integrity.
On joining the NDA, Dinakaran was candid about past discord but resolute in overriding it for Tamil Nadu’s sake. ‘Our alliance with PM Modi stems from clear conviction, free of coercion,’ he noted. Referencing J. Jayalalithaa’s principled stance, he called for politics driven by public good.
This rally galvanizes the NDA’s narrative against DMK’s alleged nepotism, promising a fresh political culture. With Modi’s star power, the coalition eyes a shift in Tamil Nadu’s power dynamics, appealing to voters disillusioned by status quo failures.
