PM Modi says govt sets up trust for Ram temple in Ayodhya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said his government has set up a trust for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya. The trust has been named Sri Ram Janambhoomi Tirath Kshetra, which will oversee the development and management of the temple, Modi told Parliamentarians in the Lok Sabha today.

In November, the Supreme Court had asked the government to form a trust, after it had ordered the construction of a Ram temple at the decades-old disputed land in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya.

“We have readied a scheme for the development of Ram temple in Ayodhya. A trust has been formed, it is called Sri Ram Janambhoomi Tirath Kshetra. My government has decided that under the Ayodhya law, the authorised land, which is nearly 67.703 acres and has an inner and outer courtyard, we will transfer it to the newly-constituted Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra,” Modi said.
