The inauguration of a temple in the Nandyal district of Andhra Pradesh was marred by violence as a police constable was assaulted by Bobbala Madana Bhupal Reddy, the cousin of Minister BC Janardhan Reddy Badha. The event took place at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Kolimigundla Mandal. Sub Inspector Jaswanth Kumar was reportedly on duty when he prevented Reddy from entering a restricted zone. This led to an alleged verbal altercation and physical assault of the constable. Reddy has been arrested following the incident, and a case has been filed by the Kolimigundla police. Minister BC Janardhan Reddy has condemned the assault, and the YSRCP has criticized the incident, saying it reveals a lack of respect for law enforcement.
