दिल्ली:

Tensions over parking boiled over into murder in Delhi’s Preet Vihar, where a man lost his life to gunfire in the dead of night. Three individuals, including the prime accused, are now in custody, as revealed by police officials Tuesday.

The altercation involved victim Pankaj Nayar and his brother Paras facing off against Gaurav Sharma around 2:20 AM Monday. Amid escalating shouts, Gaurav fired a single shot into Pankaj’s chest. Rushed to a nearby clinic, the victim succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.

Charges were slapped on Gaurav under BNS for homicide (103-1), intentional injury (115/2), joint criminal liability (3/5), plus Arms Act violations (25, 27). Pankaj’s remains underwent autopsy at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital.

A robust police operation ensued, with three dedicated squads from East District—integrating Preet Vihar cops, experts, and ASB—mobilized for the hunt. Their toolkit: detailed CCTV dissection, digital tracking, fieldwork, and informant networks.

Suspects were zeroed in on via tech-driven evidence and tips. Preet Vihar local Gaurav Sharma (42), who wielded the gun, was arrested with partner Sunil Sharma (41) and stepson Siddharth.

Neighborhood shockwaves linger as this parking feud turns fatal. It spotlights systemic issues like scarce spaces fueling aggression. With arrests secured, probes deepen into backgrounds and weapons sourcing. Community leaders call for dialogue forums and surveillance upgrades to avert repeats, ensuring public safety prevails.
