Prophet row: BJP motion in opposition to its spokespersons ‘crucial and well timed’, says Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind

NEW DELHI: Prominent Muslim physique Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind on Sunday described as “necessary and timely” the motion by Bharatiya Janata Party in opposition to its nationwide spokesperson Nupur Sharma and Delhi media head Naveen Kumar Jindal for his or her alleged derogatory remarks in opposition to Prophet Muhammad.
In an announcement, Jamiat mentioned disciplinary motion by BJP was “necessary and timely” for “maintaining law and order in the country”.
Maulana Hakeemuddin Qasmi, common secretary of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, mentioned “there is no bigger communalism and no greater offence than this, so we hope that law enforcement agencies will take legal action against them without delay and will indeed punish them, as well as take action against all such individuals who are constantly insulting the Prophet.”
According to the assertion, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind had lately handed a decision in its nationwide governing physique assembly calling for the instant passing of a regulation to guard the sanctity and dignity of all non secular personalities.
Sharma was on Sunday suspended from the occasion and Jindal expelled after their alleged derogatory remarks in opposition to Prophet Muhammad because the BJP sought to defuse the row over the problem.
