Protest over farm legal guidelines: Cops use water canons, tear fuel to disperse Congress employees in Bhopal

Water cannons and tear fuel shells had been utilized by the police in Bhopal on Saturday to disperse Congress employees protesting in opposition to the three farm legal guidelines. Several Congress leaders, together with Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh and Jaivardhan Singh, had been arrested.

“Police had to use tear gas shells, water cannons and lathis to disperse the party workers who were marching towards the Governor’s residence,” a police official was quoted as saying by information company PTI.  He additionally mentioned the police had to make use of gentle drive to “discipline protesters” after they allegedly turned unruly.

According to Bhopal Deputy Inspector General of Police Irshad Wali, the state of affairs is now beneath management.

Later, in a tweet, the Madhya Pradesh Congress Unit mentioned a memorandum had been submitted to the President requesting him to withdraw the agricultural legal guidelines.
Thousands of farmers, principally from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, have been tenting at a number of border factors of Delhi since November 28 final 12 months, demanding repeal of the legal guidelines.
