Maharashtra ATS has apprehended a software engineer in Pune, identifying him as Zubair Hangargekar, who is allegedly connected to banned terrorist organizations like Al Qaeda and involved in indoctrinating young people. The arrest was made on Monday in Kondhwa, Pune, and the suspect was remanded to police custody until November 4 by a Special UAPA Court. According to police, Hangargekar was purportedly planning terror attacks within Maharashtra and other urban centers and engaging in anti-national activities. Searches at his residence yielded materials believed to be used for radicalization purposes. This arrest is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terror networks. It follows a series of raids in Pune on October 9 that uncovered electronic data and documents suggesting a broader conspiracy.
