A new railway line is set to be built, connecting Rajpura and Mohali in Punjab. This 18-kilometer project is estimated to cost Rs 443 crore. Along with the new line, a Vande Bharat train is proposed to connect Firozpur Cantt, Bhatinda, Patiala, and Delhi. The minister highlighted the increase in railway investment in Punjab, moving from Rs 225 crore between 2009-2014 to Rs 5,421 crore.
