In an era of relentless global threats, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has called for unbreakable unity and self-sufficiency in India’s military apparatus. His remarks at the ‘Kalam and Kavach 3.0’ defense summit underscore a transformative approach to national security.

Addressing virtually the Manekshaw Centre audience—comprising elite policymakers, generals, industrialists, innovators, experts, and foreign guests—Singh declared that a country’s strength will be measured by how swiftly its defense ecosystem prototypes and fields technologies.

Cyber dangers, supply disruptions, hybrid conflicts, and geopolitical strife render old strategies obsolete. Self-reliance ensures strategic freedom; foreign dependency invites peril. India must indigenize every defense facet for true autonomy.

Modern wars demand joint operations across land, sea, air, cyber, and space domains. Success lies in synchronized efforts by armed forces, R&D labs, private sector, startups, and government.

Minister of State Sanjay Seth described the forum as where vision meets action, invoking Dr. Kalam’s legacy of science and the shield of national defense. He touted ‘Operation Sindoor’ and staggering stats: exports up to Rs 38,424 crore from a mere Rs 686 crore, production at record Rs 1.54 lakh crore.

Integrated Defence Chief Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit advocated homegrown innovation as essential for advanced capabilities. The summit featured deep dives into AI combat systems, hypersonics, quantum tech, manufacturing scale-up, aerospace advances, and global ties.

Rajnath Singh’s clarion call positions India to lead in an unpredictable world, fortified by innovation and unity.
