A severe road accident in Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries to another five. The victims were traveling in an SUV and were on their way to catch a train from Bilaspur to Kolkata, having visited Kanha National Park. The collision took place near Akalgharia village. Simultaneously, the DRI in Hyderabad conducted a successful operation in Hanamkonda, Telangana, seizing 6.53 kilograms of Indian Pangolin scales. Four individuals were apprehended during the crackdown on illegal wildlife trade, which is believed to involve the poaching of around five pangolins. The primary motivation behind this trade is the high demand for their scales, particularly in some Asian countries, where they are believed to have medicinal properties.
