Saravgi Accuses Congress of Blocking Women’s Bill for 30 Years
1 min readBihar’s political heavyweights are rallying behind the Women’s Reservation Bill, with BJP state president Sanjay Saravgi leading the charge against Congress’s historical foot-dragging.
In an IANS interview, Saravgi praised PM Modi’s 2023 introduction of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, stalled by Congress for 30 years. ‘Modi’s iron will has summoned this April 16-18 special session for Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Let’s pass it with consensus for our 48% women population,’ he appealed.
On delimitation debates, he described it as essential boundary redrawing due to rising voter numbers. ‘Congress’s mindset is flawed; they can’t grasp Modi’s push for women’s law-making rights,’ Saravgi charged.
Turning to Bihar’s leadership vacuum, he announced Chouhan’s April 14 Patna visit as observer. ‘The legislature party will meet per his instructions, culminating in timely new government setup,’ he projected.
JD(U) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan lambasted Congress’s six-decade neglect of women. ‘Their track record is abysmal; now they’re resisting transformation with stale opposition,’ he said. JD(U) MPs are whipped for the session.
Ranjan affirmed Bihar’s CM selection process is advancing rapidly after Nitish Kumar’s Rajya Sabha transition. This convergence of national and state developments underscores a pivotal moment for gender justice in politics.
