SC agrees to contemplate plea of opposition events on ‘misuse’ of central probe companies on April 5

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to checklist for listening to on April 5 a plea by 14 opposition events, led by the Congress, alleging arbitrary use of central probe companies in opposition to political opponents.
A bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud took observe of the submissions of senior advocate AM Singhvi, showing for the opposition events such because the DMK, RJD, Bharat Rashtra Samiti and the Trinamool Congress, and stated the plea can be taken up for listening to on April 5.
The events are in search of pre- and post-arrest tips to be adopted by the central probe companies such because the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate.
“Ninety five per cent cases are against opposition leaders. We are asking for pre-arrest guidelines and post-arrest guidelines,” Singhvi stated.
