Panic gripped Howrah’s Golabari area after two unidentified gunmen executed a local developer in a ruthless shooting, all caught on camera. Shafiq Khan, 30-something resident of Pilkhana, was the target of what appears to be a revenge killing early Tuesday morning.
Responding to distress calls, officers analyzed nearby surveillance videos that painted a grim picture. At 4 AM, Shafiq stood talking to one man when a second emerged from shadows behind him. Seconds later, a point-blank shot to the head dropped him, followed by a hail of bullets to seal his fate. The attackers bolted immediately.
Police sources confirm Shafiq’s routine errand for breakfast turned fatal. Locals named Mohammad Harul Khan and Rohit as suspects, citing recognizable features from the footage and a history of bad blood.
Howrah police brass elaborated: ‘The precision suggests premeditation. Shots were fired rapidly post the initial hit. We’ve filed charges and launched a manhunt with tech support.’
Grieving kin blame an old exchange of words with Harul, dismissing it as trivial. ‘No ongoing feud, but he orchestrated this with an accomplice,’ one relative told reporters.
This brazen act in a busy locale amplifies worries about escalating street crimes. With special units deployed and CCTV grids activated, police aim to nab the duo soon. The case tests law enforcement’s resolve in curbing such audacious violence.
