The curtain came down on Ujjain’s two-day Shipra Tirtha Parikrama amid rousing applause for the Indian Navy Band, whose performance at Ramghat became the centerpiece of this year’s Ganga Dussehra celebrations. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav performed traditional worship and offered a chunari to the river before highlighting Madhya Pradesh’s pioneering role in water preservation through the Jal Ganga Sanrakshan Abhiyan. With more than two lakh conservation projects completed via community participation, the state now leads the country in safeguarding its water resources. The Navy ensemble’s repertoire blended patriotic anthems with devotional numbers, leaving pilgrims visibly moved. Civic chiefs, legislators, and senior bureaucrats were among the dignitaries who shared the evening with thousands of devotees on the historic ghats.
