Six payments launched in Lok Sabha amid opposition protest over Manipur

NEW DELHI: Six payments, together with the one to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, have been launched within the Lok Sabha on Wednesday amid protests by opposition members over the violence in Manipur.

Soon after laying of papers, Speaker Om Birla requested Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai to introduce the Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, 2023.

Manish Tewari of the Congress opposed the introduction of the invoice, claiming the House lacked “legislative competence” to take action.

He stated the measure transgresses on the proper to privateness and separation of energy and suffers from the illness of extreme delegation.

Union minister Pralhad Joshi launched the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2023.

Opposing its introduction, N Ok Premachandran of the Revolutionary Socialist Party stated it’s towards the precept of federalism.

He stated it is going to adversely have an effect on public sector undertakings in addition to the security and safety of the nation.

He stated multi-national companies will profit from the modification invoice.

Joshi stated no objection will be raised on the legislative competence of Parliament with regard to amending the mines and minerals legislation.
