Sonipat’s Anti-Gangster Unit, Crime Branch Sector 7, successfully apprehended wanted criminal Ravi alias Lamba after a shootout. The incident took place on Friday night on the Barona bypass in Kharkhoda. Ravi was injured during the encounter and was immediately taken to CHC Kharkhoda for medical attention. The Delhi and Haryana Police had a combined reward of Rs 45,000 for his arrest. The arrest relates to FIR No. 525, dated September 16, 2024, involving sections of the BNS and the Arms Act. Ravi had absconded after violating parole. A 32-bore pistol and a motorcycle were recovered during the arrest. Ravi is involved in around 18 serious cases, encompassing murder, attempted murder, extortion, and robbery. He was also wanted in the murder of Brijesh, brother of gangster Ravi Munia. Investigation revealed that he was connected to the Rajesh Bawana gang and was engaged in threatening and extortion activities. The Haryana Police had announced a reward of Rs 20,000, and the Delhi Police, Rs 25,000. Senior Sonipat police officials quickly arrived at the scene. The accused is currently hospitalized under police security and is undergoing interrogation. The police are now investigating Ravi’s criminal network and other cases. He will soon be presented in court and taken on remand to unearth details about further crimes.
