In response to a Supreme Court order, the Election Commission has made public the names of around 6.5 million voters who were removed from the voter list in Bihar during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. The Supreme Court, hearing petitions related to the voter list, directed the Election Commission to enhance transparency by publishing the names. The Election Commission, adhering to the court’s mandate, uploaded the names to the websites of district authorities within a specified timeframe. The Election Commission has also announced that there is still time for individuals to register their names on the voter list, utilizing their Aadhaar cards if their names are not included in the draft list.
