New Delhi buzzed with urgency as Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil hosted the World Water Day Conference 2026, championing perpetual water stewardship. He participated in talks on industrial roles in efficient usage, recycling innovations, and cross-sector partnerships.

Under the banner ‘Industries for Water,’ the gathering united policymakers, tycoons, experts, startups, small businesses, and innovators to blueprint large-scale, technology-fueled water solutions.

Attended by 700 delegates, it promoted industries as proactive conservers embracing sustainable tactics. Patil’s X post celebrated PM Modi’s guidance in scaling Jal Mahotsav into a broad-based national campaign spanning March 8-22.

Panchayat-led conservation, participation drives, and Jal Arpan have crystallized it into a mass movement. The introduced Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0 directives chart reforms for rural water systems, emphasizing reliable delivery, responsibility, and longevity.

Tools like assessments, digital maps, and ‘Sujal Gram ID’ will strengthen communities. MoUs with nine states reflect robust federal cooperation on enhancements.

Patil hailed ‘Sujal Gram Samvad’ as evidence of the mission’s transformation into a people-powered resolve, with citizens as water stewards building a secure tomorrow. The program honored hackathon stars for impactful ideas and marked releases of pivotal censuses—minor irrigation, water bodies, springs, major projects—and the National Water Data Policy.

These milestones herald an era of informed, collaborative water governance for India’s future.
