Delhi Police’s tenacity paid off with the arrest of a mobile snatcher terrorizing Mohan Garden residents. The recovery of the stolen phone marks a significant victory in the battle against opportunistic crimes in the national capital.
A PCR alert on the intervening night of February 23-24 signaled a mobile theft in Mohan Garden. ASI Murali Singh spearheaded the response, deploying his team for on-ground investigations right away.
Nineteen-year-old Abhijeet, residing on Gurudwara Road, fell victim while returning home. Near Metro Pillar 749 on the primary Najafgarh-Uttam Nagar stretch, two bikers snatched his phone and vanished towards Uttam Nagar. The case was logged at Uttam Nagar thana, fueling a relentless pursuit.
Formed under ASI Murali Singh, the squad of HC Jitendra, HC Rakesh, and HC Dharmendra reviewed extensive CCTV coverage from 150+ cameras spanning Mohan Garden to Dwarka North. With Inspector Mukesh Antil’s supervision and Prakash Kumar Singh’s guidance, intelligence-driven raids ensued.
Twenty-one-year-old Nagesh from Dabri was nabbed, phone in hand. His confession implicated Jafar alias Sahil in the heist and exposed Nagesh’s repeat offender status, including another recent snatch.
Ongoing inquiries seek the partner’s capture and further revelations from Nagesh’s dossier. Such rapid resolutions exemplify how vigilance and tech can transform crime scenes into success stories for law enforcement.
