Tamil Nadu governor retains dismissal order of minister Balaji in abeyance; to seek the advice of AG

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi has determined to maintain the dismissal order of state minister V Senthil Balaji in abeyance in the intervening time and knowledgeable Chief Minister M Ok Stalin about it, sources mentioned on Thursday.

In a late night communication to the chief minister, the governor mentioned he would seek the advice of the legal professional common and search his authorized opinion in regards to the transfer.

The order to dismiss Balaji from the Council of Ministers has been stored in abeyance by the governor till additional communication, the sources mentioned.

Earlier, the governor had dismissed Balaji from the Council of Ministers, days after his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in an alleged cash-for-jobs rip-off.

Stalin had mentioned the state authorities would problem the governor’s choice legally.

In an official launch, the Raj Bhavan in Chennai had mentioned, “There are cheap apprehensions that the continuation of V Senthil Balaji within the Council of Ministers will adversely affect the due strategy of regulation, together with honest investigation that will ultimately result in the breakdown of constitutional equipment within the state.

” Balaji “is going through severe prison proceedings in plenty of instances of corruption, together with taking money for jobs and cash laundering.

Abusing his place as a minister, he has been influencing the investigation and obstructing the due strategy of regulation and justice,” the discharge added.
