Following the devastating explosion at the Sigachi Pharma factory in Sangareddy, Telangana, where 34 lives were lost, the focus is shifting towards prevention and accountability. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has advocated for the establishment of a high-level committee to address safety concerns within the pharmaceutical and related industries, especially in the Hyderabad region. He highlighted the rapid response from the Prime Minister’s Office and the subsequent deployment of the NDRF. Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao has called for a detailed investigation into the accident, emphasizing the need to determine if negligence played a role. The incident, which happened in the Pasamailaram Phase 1 area, also resulted in injuries. BRS leader K Kavitha visited the injured in a hospital, attributing the tragedy to governmental negligence and demanding significant compensation for the families of the deceased.
