Police are investigating the murder of Congress functionary Anil Marelli in Medak district, Telangana. The incident, which took place on Monday evening, involved the shooting of Marelli by unknown assailants near Varikuntam X road. Sub-Inspector Mohd Ghouse of Kolcharam revealed that Marelli was involved in the real estate business and possibly entangled in land litigations. Law enforcement officials believe the attackers followed Marelli from Hyderabad before the shooting. A case has been registered, and efforts are being made to track down those responsible. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and the authorities are awaiting further information.
