Three-storey resort collapses in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag, no casualties

DEHRADUN: A 3-storey resort collapsed amid heavy rains in Rudraprayag on Tuesday morning. No casualty was reported as resort residents had been evacuated earlier than the collapse.

Speaking to The New Indian Express, District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar stated, “The three-storey hotel collapsed due to a landslide near Rampur on Rudraprayag-Kedarnath road. After the accident on Tuesday morning, the administration team reached the spot and the debris is being removed”.

Traffic was fully disrupted because of the collapse of the resort. The particles is being eliminated.

Meanwhile, the Kedarnath freeway was closed as a consequence of incessant heavy rains, leaving travellers and pilgrims stranded at a number of areas.

Uttarakhand has been receiving heavy rains for the previous a number of days, triggering landslides, claiming lives in rain-related incidents.

The IMD has issued alerts for various districts within the state.
