Trekker lacking after avalanche close to Friendship Peak in Himachal Pradesh

SHIMLA: A trekker has gone lacking after an avalanche close to Friendship Peak in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district, officers mentioned.
Sachin and Ashutosh, residents of Chopal in Shimla district, and Sahil from Manali had began their trek to the height on November 17, they mentioned on Sunday.
However, Sachin returned to the bottom camp as a result of high-altitude illness whereas the remaining two continued their journey, the officers mentioned.
Ashutosh, who was on the sting of the mountain, was hit by the avalanche when he was simply 20 metres wanting the summit and he fell in the direction of the Dhundi Atal tunnel aspect on Saturday, Adventure Tour Operator Association vp Joginder Thakur mentioned.
Sahil got here again to Manali and reported the matter to police following which a nine-member search group was fashioned to search for the lacking trekker.
Thakur was a part of the group that carried out search operations on Sunday, with sources saying it’s but to find Ashutosh.
The group has 4 police personnel, together with the native station home officer, and 5 well-trained and outfitted personnel from the Adventure Tour Operator Association.
The search group returned late on Sunday night and can resume the search operations on Monday morning.
A group from the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports in Manali will be part of the search on Monday.
