Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha made a compelling case for Hindi’s role in binding India together, even as he outlined AI’s promise to propel the country into a tech-driven era. His statements on Thursday set the stage for an upcoming high-profile language conference in Agartala.
While honoring India’s linguistic diversity, Saha advocated strengthening Hindi to enhance nationwide dialogue. He announced that Agartala will host the joint regional official language conference for northern, eastern, and northeastern zones, courtesy of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Scheduled for Friday at the Hapania International Indoor Exhibition Centre, the event will see Shah deliver the inaugural speech. Saha expressed delight at the gathering of regional representatives and his hope for more national events in the capital.
‘Tripura’s people comfortably navigate Hindi,’ he observed, positioning it as a common thread. ‘Our goal is national integration via Hindi, alongside cherishing all mother tongues rooted in Sanskrit.’
He commended PM Modi’s and Shah’s leadership in fostering language amity. Turning to innovation, Saha spoke of his Wednesday engagement at New Delhi’s AI Impact Summit in Bharat Mandapam.
There, he networked with global leaders, ministers, and fellow CMs on AI matters. Noting PM Modi’s enthusiasm, Saha pointed to AI’s budgetary nod and its imminent rollout across ministries.
‘India stands ready to become the world’s AI powerhouse,’ he proclaimed. This forward-looking stance, paired with cultural emphasis, signals Tripura’s active contribution to India’s evolving narrative.
