In Vellore district’s Agaramcheri, TVK led by Vijay has officially dropped plans for a February 23 public rally, opting for a secure, invite-only executive council meeting attended by 4,900 members.
The shift comes after preparations for a 25,000-strong crowd on 33 leveled acres hit a roadblock. Vellore SP N.U. Shivaraman’s inspection led to a 20-condition notice, compelling TVK to revise the program into a closed administrative affair.
Strict protocols include QR ID verification for entry. The four-hour session from midday to evening features comprehensive facilities: 10 shamianas, seating arrangements, 50,000 water bottles, and 6,000 liters of potable water.
Emergency response is fortified with 10 medical teams (30 doctors, 100 nurses, 100 helpers), 15 ambulances, and 500 volunteers—trained by retired officer Sabiyullah, including 50 women—for crowd management.
Security ramps up with 900 police deployments. Proximity to the national highway means minimal disruptions there, though local Agaramcheri-Pallikuppam traffic will be rerouted. Extra vigilance surrounds Vijay’s convoy from Chennai.
This recalibration highlights TVK’s responsiveness to authorities, prioritizing smooth internal proceedings over spectacle as it builds momentum in Tamil Nadu’s dynamic political arena.
