Two killed, 22 injured in conflict in Assam’s Kamrup district

GUWAHATI: At least two individuals have been killed and 22 others injured, most of them severely, in a conflict between two teams over a land dispute in Assam’s Kamrup district on Thursday, police mentioned. A dispute over a chunk of land in Kismat Kathami village in Sontoli space snowballed into a bunch conflict with belligerents attacking one another with iron rods, sticks and sharp weapons, a police officer mentioned.
The injured individuals have been first taken to Sontoli Primary Healthcare Centre, from the place 17 of the severely injured have been shifted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. The our bodies of the deceased have been despatched for autopsy examination.
A police workforce has been deployed within the space and strict vigil is being maintained, he added.
