UAE President Receives Gujarat Kesar Mangoes from PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has concluded his five-day foreign visit on a high note, presenting UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan with Gujarat’s prized Kesar mangoes. The thoughtful gift has generated widespread enthusiasm among farmers in Valsad and other parts of Gujarat, who see it as a major boost for the state’s agricultural exports. Known for its exceptional sweetness, rich aroma, and extended shelf life, the Kesar variety is gaining international attention following this high-level gesture. Valsad, already a hub for Hapus mango exports, is now poised for greater recognition of its Kesar produce. Local farmers believe the gesture will help promote Gujarat’s agricultural heritage globally and open new markets in the Gulf region. Rajesh Patel emphasized that the gift carries the essence of Gujarat’s soil and farmers’ efforts. Dharmendra Singh Chauhan highlighted that Kesar mangoes hold a GI tag and are among India’s finest varieties. He praised PM Modi’s efforts to promote local products abroad, aligning with the Vocal for Local initiative. As India leads the world in mango production, this diplomatic move could pave the way for increased exports and improved farmer incomes.
