A distressing incident unfolded in Gurugram where an eight-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a delivery worker. Police stated the girl was taken while going to participate in the Kanjak ritual on Wednesday. The father reported his daughter missing at 8:30 PM, after the child left for the ritual at 11 AM. The police assembled five teams for a search. The girl was found unconscious roughly 20 hours after the abduction, five kilometers from her home. During the investigation, police interviewed nearby residents and reviewed CCTV footage. Residents reported seeing a young man on a green scooter with the girl. The police found the girl at the crime scene in Sector 95, and she was in a critical condition. Medical examination confirmed the girl had been raped and assaulted. A case was filed under the POCSO Act. The police used CCTV footage to identify and trace the 21-year-old suspect who works as a delivery boy. The investigation revealed the suspect lured the girl with the promise of food before abducting and sexually assaulting her. The suspect also stated he approached two other children earlier in the day, but released them before the abduction and assault of the eight-year-old girl.
