Union Home Ministry approves title change of two locations in Uttar Pradesh

LUCKNOW: Stage is all set in Uttar Pradesh to rename two locations after the state authorities acquired the approval by Union Home Ministry on Tuesday. As per the official sources, the Union Home Ministry has given its consent to alter the names – a Municipal Council in Gorakhpur and a village in Deoria—each in japanese UP, following suggestions from the state authorities.
The ‘no-objection’ certificates had been issued by the Union Home ministry for altering the title of ‘Mundera Baazar’ municipal council in Gorakhpur district to ‘Chauri-Chaura’ and that of ‘Telia Afghan’ village in Deoria district to ‘Telia Shukla’, mentioned the state authorities official.
Mundera Bazar Municipal Council will now turn into Chauri-Chaura Municipal Council to commemorate 100-years of the Chauri-Chaura incident which had taken place on February 4, 1922 in Gorakhpur district.
