An unusual incident occurred in the Jhadol block of Udaipur, Rajasthan, where a 55-year-old woman, Rekha Kalbelia, gave birth to her 17th child. The delivery took place at the Community Health Centre. This mother has experienced the loss of five of her children shortly after birth. The remaining children total 12, including seven sons and five daughters. Several of her children are married, and she and her husband are now grandparents. The family has struggled financially, with the husband working as a scrap dealer. They had to borrow funds for their children’s weddings, and none of the children received formal education.
