Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath heralded a new era of governance Thursday by launching the first phase of Census-2027 at his Lucknow home. The ‘Our Census, Our Development’ drive started with systematic house listing, poised to deliver actionable insights for statewide prosperity.

‘It’s not just numbers,’ Yogi asserted. ‘The census is the foundation for inclusive, sustainable development.’ In a world reliant on data analytics, these figures will optimize investments in basics like infrastructure and health, while amplifying welfare outreach to every corner.

This digital census, a PM Modi initiative, innovates with self-enumeration options from May 7-21, 2026. Post that, teams hit the streets for verification, leading to individual headcounts in Phase 2—complete with caste inclusion and forest village coverage, both groundbreaking.

Digital innovation shines through a monitoring portal offering live oversight from districts to villages. UP’s behemoth scale—257 million people across diverse administrative units—demands 547,000 dedicated staff, from field enumerators to top supervisors, backed by extensive training.

Yogi’s call to action was clear: Treat census as a national service. Register once, accurately, to craft policies that uplift all. His motivational address capped the event, wishing success to the massive collaborative effort ahead.
