Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for smarter, safer bus travel. On Sunday, Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh welcomed the state cabinet’s nod to revamp 49 prominent UPSRTC bus stations with digital enhancements focused on passenger protection.

This ambitious phase-two project leverages PPP and DBFO-T mechanisms, allowing private sector involvement in design, funding, operations, and eventual handover. No capital outlay from the government—private investments drive the change while UPSRTC holds the assets.

Key features include superior sanitation, advanced security setups, and digital info networks for real-time updates. The stations will also boast organized parking, business zones, and green building practices, creating self-sustaining ecosystems.

Singh described it as a cornerstone of modern transport under CM Yogi’s guidance, fostering jobs, spurring commerce, and enhancing city development. Passengers gain access to premium services, from secure waiting areas to efficient ticketing.

A transparent tender process will select developers soon, transforming outdated depots into world-class terminals. This overhaul not only safeguards travelers but also reimagines public transport as a catalyst for progress in Uttar Pradesh.
